Notably, the esports environment also positively affects academic performance, with 60% of coaches reporting improved grades or attendance among participants.

The alliance forms a part of the broader objectives of the PlayVS Collective, an initiative dedicated to enriching the esports environment for students, coaches, and schools. Chapman noted, “We’re calling it the PlayVS Collective, a resource that supports our community, especially those in our leagues at schools.” This may include broader STEM learning resources and infrastructure development for competitive esports environments in schools.
