Stema, an Italian startup focused on career solutions for engineers, raises €1.6 million to advance its B2B platform, aiming to revolutionise the recruitment landscape through AI.
Stema, an Italian startup specialising in career solutions for engineers, announced today that it has successfully raised €1.6 million in a new funding round. The investment is set to accelerate the development of its B2B platform, which aims to revolutionise STEM recruitment by leveraging advanced artificial intelligence technologies.
Based in Italy, Stema is spearheading innovation in the human resources sector by focusing on long-term career development rather than immediate job placements. This approach has allowed the company to foster a robust network of STEM professionals around its platform, offering both candidates and employers more effective ways to meet their needs. The platform provides engineers with tools to navigate the job market and connect with companies that align with their career goals, while allowing businesses to better identify suitable candidates, thereby promoting creativity and innovation in workplaces.
The company’s foundation is built upon a team with diverse expertise. Co-founder Vito Lomele has a prolific entrepreneurial background, having previously established successful ventures such as Fiscozen and Jobrapido. Alongside him are CEO Davide Bodini, with a strong background in human resources, and CTO Matteo Gambera, an expert in automation engineering.
Currently, Stema has established partnerships with 15 leading technical firms in Italy. CEO Davide Bodini highlighted the transformative impact Stema aims to have on the engineering job market in Europe. He stated, “We are redefining how talent is accessed and cultivated. Our focus on guided career paths rather than isolated job opportunities aims to make European businesses more globally competitive.”
The funding round was led by United Ventures through its UV III and UV III Lombardia funds, with additional participation from Eden Ventures, Club degli Investitori, and Octopus Ventures. The regional “Lombardia Venture” initiative, aimed at supporting high-potential technological startups, backs the UV III Lombardia fund.
Paolo Gesess, co-founder and managing partner of United Ventures, expressed enthusiasm about the role AI is playing in transforming human resources practices. He noted the high demand for STEM talent, which traditional recruitment methods struggle to meet. “Stema is uniquely positioned with its vertical focus on STEM profiles and a community-centric model. It is well-placed to capture significant opportunities within the HR tech space,” Gesess commented.
With the new capital injection, Stema plans to enhance its technological offerings, expand its workforce, and cement its market presence in Italy. The company also has its sights set on extending operations into the German market in the near future.
