Digital Domain teams up with Amazon Web Services to enhance its Autonomous Virtual Human technology, expanding its capabilities across various industries.
Digital Domain Partners with AWS to Propel Virtual Human Technology to New Heights
Digital Domain, a pioneer in virtual human technology, has taken a significant step towards enhancing its Autonomous Virtual Human (AVH) technology by migrating it to the cloud, thanks to a new collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS). This strategic partnership is set to leverage AWS’s advanced cloud infrastructure, generative AI, and machine learning (ML) services to expand the reach and versatility of Digital Domain’s AVH across various industries, including entertainment, gaming, healthcare, hospitality, and commercial applications.
Daniel Seah, CEO of Digital Domain, highlighted the importance of this collaboration by stating, “This collaboration with AWS marks a significant milestone for Digital Domain and our ambitions in virtual human technology. By migrating our Autonomous Virtual Human technology to the cloud, we are not only enhancing its scalability and performance but also expanding its accessibility to a global audience.” Seah added that AWS’s involvement is crucial for pushing the boundaries of what’s possible, enabling Digital Domain to create more immersive and interactive experiences for their clients and their audiences.
The collaboration will also allow Digital Domain to establish new industry standards, particularly in the hospitality and travel sector. This includes a partnership with Plaza Premium Group, one of the largest independently run pay-in lounge operations in airports worldwide.
This development follows Digital Domain’s previous success with Zoey, a groundbreaking virtual human introduced in 2022. By utilising AWS’s sophisticated cloud services, such as Amazon Bedrock, Digital Domain aims to boost the adaptability and evolution of AVH technology. Additionally, they are employing Amazon Polly to refine voice outputs and are exploring the use of Amazon Rekognition for facial recognition and video-based services. AWS’s robust security and compliance features will ensure the safety and integrity of Digital Domain’s data.
Samira Bakhtiar, General Manager of Media & Entertainment, Games, and Sports at AWS, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration. “We are thrilled to collaborate with Digital Domain in this transformative journey to the cloud. As virtual humans play a larger role across industries to engage directly with customers, Digital Domain is ensuring that everyone has access to its visionary AVH technology by combining it with the most secure, extensive, and reliable global cloud infrastructure, as well as AWS’s generative AI and ML services. We look forward to working with Digital Domain to further expand AVH’s capabilities and bring virtual humans to more AWS customers.”
Digital Domain’s AVH technology is designed to create lifelike virtual humans that can interact in real time. By harnessing AWS’s advanced AI and ML tools, Digital Domain aims to set new benchmarks in virtual human experiences, with potential applications ranging from storytelling and customer engagement to interactive entertainment.
In conclusion, the collaboration between Digital Domain and AWS marks a pivotal moment in the journey of virtual human technology. As the partnership progresses, it is poised to unlock new possibilities and redefine the standards of customer interaction and engagement across multiple sectors globally.
