Zoom enhances its accessibility by making its solutions available on AWS Marketplace while forming a strategic partnership with Mitel to innovate in unified communications.
Zoom Expands Offerings on AWS Marketplace and Forms Strategic Alliances
Zoom has announced that its Zoom Workplace and Workvivo solutions are now available on the AWS Marketplace, broadening access to its suite of tools through Amazon’s comprehensive digital catalogue. This move allows customers to easily obtain a wide array of Zoom products, enhancing the purchasing and deployment experience for Amazon Web Services (AWS) clients looking to streamline their technology suite.
Expanded Accessibility through AWS Marketplace
The availability on AWS Marketplace means customers can directly purchase Zoom’s service offerings, including Meetings, Team Chat, Phone, Whiteboard, and Spaces, as well as products like Workvivo, Zoom Contact Center, and Revenue Accelerator. AWS Marketplace is known for its extensive collection of solutions provided by independent software vendors, simplifying the process of identifying, testing, buying, and deploying software that operates on Amazon AWS.
Graeme Geddes, Chief Growth Officer at Zoom, noted the enhanced reach and capability this partnership offers:
“By making Zoom available through a private offer in AWS Marketplace, we are able to reach more customers and are better equipped to enable IT teams to consolidate their technology. At Zoom, we are excited to build upon our already strong relationship with AWS and work together further to help meet the business and technology needs of our customers.”
This initiative builds on over two years of Zoom’s success as an AWS independent software vendor (ISV) within the public sector. The new purchasing option aims to assist AWS customers in consolidating their technology purchases and streamline billing for Zoom solutions. Additionally, AWS clients can discover partners that aid in deployment and maximise the use of AWS committed resources.
Zoom underscores its integration with more than 40 AWS services, including Amazon EC2, Amazon S3, AWS Key Management Service, Amazon RDS, and Amazon DynamoDB. Notably, customers utilising Zoom’s Customer Managed Key offering can leverage their own encryption keys through AWS Key Management Service to secure specific data. In recognition of its efforts, AWS named Zoom a finalist for the NAMER Geo and Global AWS Partner Award in the Education Partners of the Year category in 2023.
Strategic Partnership with Mitel
In a flurry of developments, Zoom has also been named Mitel’s new exclusive UCaaS partner, enhancing its status within the Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) sector. This strategic partnership follows the termination of Mitel’s previous exclusive engagement with RingCentral.
Together, Zoom and Mitel plan to deliver AI-powered unified communications solutions for enterprises. The partnership will see Zoom becoming Mitel’s exclusive UCaaS provider across its broader UC portfolio, marking a significant upgrade in their collaborative efforts. The agreement includes the launch of a hybrid cloud solution that integrates Zoom Workplace and Zoom AI Companion with Mitel’s industry-leading communication platform, intended to offer an advanced and flexible communication experience for enterprises.
Eric Yuan, Founder and CEO of Zoom, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration:
“Like Zoom, Mitel has a customer-first approach where providing a best-in-class, collaborative working environment is of the utmost importance. I look forward to watching this partnership progress and continuing to work closely with Mitel to meet the evolving needs of our users.”
Federal Authorisation for AI Companion
Additionally, Zoom’s AI Companion solution has achieved Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) authorisation from the Joint Authorization Board (JAB) at a JAB Moderate system level. This certification represents another step in Zoom’s commitment to providing secure and compliant communication tools for the U.S. government sector.
The FedRAMP authorisation adds to the portfolio of approved solutions under Zoom for Government, bolstering the company’s position as a trusted provider of secure communications for federal agencies.
These recent developments underscore a significant period of growth and expansion for Zoom, reinforcing its role as a key player in the provision of communication and collaboration tools across various sectors.
