Neuss, Germany — Yamaha Robotics has announced the appointment of Ms Ai Nagakubo as the new Branch Manager of its European headquarters in Neuss, near Düsseldorf, effective from January 1, 2024. This significant leadership change sees Ms Nagakubo advancing from her role as Corporate Department Manager to take the helm of the company’s operations in Europe.

Ms Nagakubo has been an integral part of Yamaha Robotics since its inception in 2011. Her career with the company has seen her manage key areas such as finance, human resources, and logistics operations, while maintaining strong coordination with Yamaha Corporation in Japan. Her extensive experience and understanding of company operations position her well to lead the branch in its ongoing expansion and innovation efforts.

In her new role, Ms Nagakubo will oversee Yamaha Robotics’ two main divisions—Surface Mount Technology and Factory Automation. These divisions are at the forefront of technological advancements, with ongoing developments such as smart-factory software designed to enhance surface-mount electronics assembly, AI-driven optical inspection tools, and cutting-edge component mounting and printing platforms like the YRM20DL dual-lane mounter.

The Factory Automation unit has also introduced several innovations, including new industrial robots tailored for flexible transport and operations, and a cost-efficient SCARA model designed for cleanroom environments. These innovations cater to a broad range of applications, including semiconductor manufacturing, food processing, and the assembly of medical devices, showcasing Yamaha’s commitment to supporting a variety of industrial needs.

Ms Nagakubo expressed her enthusiasm for her new role, emphasising her excitement at the opportunity to build on Yamaha Robotics’ solid foundation.
