In a breakthrough development for the software industry, Lovable has successfully raised $7.5 million in a pre-seed funding round, bolstered by support from major European venture capital firms Hummingbird VC and byFounders VC. This round also saw participation from a diverse group of esteemed angel investors and significant influencers in the tech space, including operators from Deepmind, prominent founders of global AI companies, and notable figures from Shopify, Voi, and Creandum.
Lovable, co-founded by Swedish entrepreneurs Anton Osika and Fabian Hedin, seeks to democratise software development with its innovative platform, GPT Engineer. Officially launched in its beta form, GPT Engineer has quickly garnered attention and praise, acquiring hundreds of paying users in a short span of time. The product not only ascended to the front pages of prominent platforms such as Product Hunt and Hacker News but also amassed an impressive 75 five-star reviews, maintaining a perfect 5/5 rating on Product Hunt.
Positioned as a compelling European alternative to American AI coding solutions, GPT Engineer is designed to allow users to articulate their desired web applications features in natural language. The platform’s AI component proceeds to generate production-ready code in real-time, setting itself apart with its capability for quick and precise iteration. It accommodates both experienced developers and beginners, enabling the creation and deployment of fully functional web applications.
