Dewan Architects + Engineers prepares to showcase pioneering technologies and their AI-driven tool at AU 2024, celebrating 40 years of innovation in the architecture and construction sectors.
Dewan Architects + Engineers is poised to showcase its cutting-edge technologies at the Autodesk University (AU) 2024, taking place in San Diego, USA from October 15 to 17. Celebrating its 40th anniversary, the firm joins a prestigious assembly of over 12,000 design and construction professionals to unveil its advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and automation within Building Information Modelling (BIM).
Highlighting its pursuit of digital transformation, Dewan is set to present its custom-designed tools that integrate seamlessly with Autodesk platforms. These tools are engineered to improve efficiency and streamline project delivery in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) sector. Through a live demonstration, Dewan will exhibit the operational advantages of these innovations, including minimised coordination challenges and improved data management, which in turn accelerate project timelines and boost data accuracy.
Dewan’s noteworthy innovation includes the AI-driven tool Quible, which enhances data analysis and facilitates informed decision-making. Developed in-house, Quible leverages deep learning and Large Language Models (LLM) to refine design precision and project outcomes. This tool transforms building design strategies from reactive fixes to proactive solutions, optimising project performance, cost management, and sustainability considerations.
Christopher Stock, the Head of BIM at Dewan, emphasises the transformative impact of live and interactive data in creating responsive design processes that enhance project outcomes. Similarly, Ammar Al Assam, CEO of Dewan, underscores the firm’s dedication to pioneering technology, marking 40 years of shaping future design paradigms through AI integration and global innovation.
Additionally, Dewan’s internal technology research lab, MAD, plays a pivotal role in driving the company’s digital transformation through research and development. By adopting technologies such as Digital Twins and Extended Reality (XR), MAD aims to refine workflow processes and predict future industry needs.
A significant demonstration of these advancements can be seen in Dewan’s collaboration on the AMAALA Yacht Club project with Red Sea Global in Saudi Arabia. Utilising cloud-based BIM workflows, the project realised a 43% reduction in design collaboration duration, a 17% decrease in total design time, and a 28% drop in change management tasks, showcasing significant operational savings and improved efficiency.
In line with its continuous innovation streak, Dewan’s acquisition of a majority stake in Singapore-based DesignLab enhances its presence in the global hospitality sector. The firm’s adherence to the ISO 19650 standard guarantees project data management and collaboration align with premier international guidelines.
